Youth Mental Health Academy (YMHA)

A 14-month community-based program for students and mentors from structurally marginalized communities who are interested in the mental health field. YMHA provides hands-on learning in mental health science, practice, and communications through:

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

You’ll receive a stipend of up to $2,000 to learn about topics in mental health and develop skills through a 5-week academy during your first summer.

MENTORSHIP

You’ll be matched with a mentor who is in a health-related field.

PAID INTERNSHIP

You’ll get the benefit of real-life hands-on experience in clinical, research, or media/communications and a stipend during your second summer.

INTEGRATED SUPPORT

Integrated support provides student and caregiver workshops, college access planning, and connection to community resources.
